Christian Hahnemann in the year
1796. Historically speaking the roots of this line of thinking
can be traced back to the times of Hippocrates and even before.
The advancement in technology and industrialization was also accompanied
by the appearance of a number of diseases, which affected mankind.
This gave birth to Allopathy, which at that time appeared to be
the only system that could restore the sick to health. But soon
the numerous side effects of allopathic medicines distressed the
medical community and the public at large. The growth of psychology,
the awareness of ecology and above all the view of man as a total
being greater than the sum of his/her organs combined to influence
the masses to look to nature for solutions to their health problems.
This new high level of awareness inspired some in the medical
community to treat the 'diseased individual' rather than treating
a 'diseased organ' giving rise to what is popularly called "Holistic
Medicine". It is this revolution that has caused the resurgence
of Homeopathy---a highly scientific system of medicine developed
in and practiced since the 18th century, now gaining increasing
recognition and acceptance as a " modern and natural system
of medicine".
PRINCIPLES OF HOMEOPATHY: This
precisely structured doctrine of healing is based on three scientific
principles:
Principle of Vital Force
Principle of Similia Smilibus Curanteur.
Principle of Potentization.
DESCRIPTION OF VITAL FORCE: The
Vital Force, according to Homeopathic philosophy is a dynamic
force that flows throughout the body and maintains the normal
functioning of mind, body and soul i.e. it maintains the body
in a state of health. The pattern of this energy varies from individual
to individual.
The normal functioning of this energy ensures
the state of health of an individual. Any derangement in the normal
flow of this energy causes the individual to fall from his state
of ease or health i.e. the individual becomes diseased.
The pattern of vital force during disease gets
changed which is externally manifested as symptoms. Modern experiments
show that human beings give off radiations which were first photographed
in the former Soviet Union through a technique known as "Kirlian
Photography" named after it's developer. Through the use
of Kirlian photography it was demonstrated that the patterns of
radiation differ from man to man in health as well as in disease.
This finding supported Dr. Hahnemann's theory of Vital Force.
DESCRIPTION OF SIMILIA SIMILIBUS CURANTEUR:
"SIMILIA SIMILIBUS CURANTEUR" or "LIKE
CURES LIKE" means the very substance which will produce the
symptoms of a disease in a healthy individual can be used to cure
a sick person of an illness which causes similar symptoms. The
similarity between the disease and the drug picture ensures that
the pattern of the two energies i.e. the pattern of the deranged
vital force and the pattern of the energy producing/treating capacity
of the drug tally with each other, thereby neutralizing each other's
effect.
DESCRIPTION OF POTENTIZATION: This
therapeutic method consists of giving the patient diluted but
energized (i.e. potentized) doses of the remedy on the principle
of similia smilibus curanteur. The method of potentization is
a process of serial dilution with vigorous shaking between each
dilution. With each subsequent dilution the number of molecules
of the crude substance decreases, while the vigorous shaking
increases the energy of each molecule.
This principle has been scientifically supported
by the fact that the French biologist Mr. Jacques Benevista
and his team of 13 Canadian, Israeli and Italian Scientists
have discovered that a molecule diluted until it no longer exists
can behave as if it was still there and that the diluted liquid
retains the molecules' "memory".
Based on the scientific principle of Similia
Similibus Curanteur, when the potentized (energized) remedy is
introduced into the body of the diseased individual it energizes
the deranged vital force and brings it back to normal i.e. it
restores the body to the state of health.
SAFETY OF THE HOMEOPATHIC SYSTEM OF MEDICINE:
The curative substances used in Homeopathy are called
remedies. The amount of the original active ingredient in homeopathic
remedies is reduced by the decimal scale and is indicated by a
number and the letter "X". The 3X potency contains 1/1000th
part of the remedy, the 6X potency contains 1/1,000,000th part
of the remedial agent etc.
Thus Homeopathic "high" potencies (200,
1M, 10M etc.) contain the most minute amount of the basic active
ingredient, but this has been potentized by each subsequent dilution
to enhance therapeutic effectiveness. The layman should not attempt
to utilize these higher potencies except on the advice of a physician.
Homeopathic remedies are always referred to as
"remedies" to distinguish them from crude drugs usually
prescribed and sold in the ordinary corner drugstore. Even Homeopathic
tinctures which carry the highest percentage of the original Homeopathic
substance (lowest potency i.e. 1X as compared to 200X) are far
milder and non-toxic in the amount used than crude drugs sold
for the same illness.
The safety of homeopathic remedies becomes evident
from the fact that in homeopathic dilutions of 6th potency (6X)
and higher, no active molecule of the original drug substance
is traceable in the homeopathic dilutions.
In contrast to the medicines of Allopathy (conventional
western medicine), Homeopathic remedies are non-addicting and
non-habit forming. When precisely indicated and prescribed at
the right time, Homeopathic remedies always work and achieves
the desired results to bring relief from pathological conditions.
UNIVERSAL ACCEPTANCE OF HOMEOPATHY MEDICINE:
Recent evidence shows that this system of medicine
has been very well accepted in countries like the USA, France,
Germany, United Kingdom, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, India etc.
The Principle of Similia Similibus Curanteur
and the fact that an infinitesimally small dose stimulates the
body to heal itself are well established and accepted even in
Allopathy. The successful development, application and resistance
building characteristic of vaccines are based upon these same
Principles of Homeopathy
The growing awareness and acceptance of Homeopathic
remedies as an effective adjunct, if not alternative, to conventional
allopathic medicines can be gauged by the tremendous surge in
the sales of Homeopathic formulations in Western Europe, the USA
and Asia. In the United States, sales of Homeopathic remedies
more than doubled between the years 1988 through 1992 and doubled
again between the years 1992 through 1995 and are continuing to
grow.
The network of institutions teaching Homeopathy
around the world has been increasing. Eight medical schools in
France offer 3 years educational programs leading to an advanced
degree in Homeopathy. In Germany, it is mandatory for all medical
students to receive some training in the natural healing sciences
of Homeopathy and herbal medicine. Adding to this impressive statistics
is the fact that in India alone there are more than 130 homeopathic
medical colleges, which graduate approximately 8,000 homeopathic
physicians annually.
Laboratory confirmation of results collected
from strictly administered random clinical trials support the
fact that Homeopathy is a precisely structured doctrine. Even
though most Homeopathic principles and concepts have their parallels
in Allopathy, Homeopathy differs from the latter science in that
principles adopted by Homeopathy are mutually consistent and coherent.
These coherent and consistent ideas of homeopathy
form the working principles at Nature Cure
Company - one of the few firms to offer
the HEALING POWER OF NATURE based on the tried and true principles
of Homeopathy. The well equipped modern laboratories of Nature
Cure Company's associates
produce simple, safe, effective and economical Homeopathic Remedies
that promote good health and well being to the consuming public.
